A Champion is Crowned, Sort Of
Our Winter 2025 Season Championship Event kicked off with 47 of 55 qualifiers coming out and laying down $120 each to try and claim their share of this massive prize pool. With $4,220 withheld from our regular season events being added to the prize pool, we ended up with $9,860 up for grabs. With a deeper starting stack and no rebuys available, players were cautious and there were only two eliminations before the break. After the break was a different story. Players were eliminated rapidly and it didn’t take long to reach our money bubble.
Rob Cli. (Conklin, NY) was our unfortunate bubble boy, getting knocked out in 11th place. Michael Li. (Binghamton, NY) was our first casualty in the money, finishing in 10th and taking home $300. This was Michael’s first season at 607 Poker League and his first cash. We expect big things from Michael next season.
Next we had a double elimination with Jason Hol. (Binghamton, NY) and Charlie Lew. (Chenango Forks, NY) being eliminated on the same hand. Lucky for him, Charlie started the hand with a slightly bigger chip stack than Jason so Jason claimed 9th place ($350) and Charlie took 8th place for $400. This was the first season for both Jason & Charlie as well. Could this success serve as a springboard for a successful fall season for both of them?
Our next knockout was also a double elimination with Jalen Ill. (Binghamton, NY) and Justin Ho. (Bainbridge, NY) heading for the door after meeting their demise on the same hand. Jalen claimed 7th place ($500) and his first cash of the season (nice timing there) while Justin took 6th place ($600) and his fourth cash in nine events this season.
With five players left and $7700 left to be paid out, these card sharks decided to chop the remaining prize pool. Chad P. (McGraw, NY) took home $1,500 and his fourth cash in five events this season. Adam De. (Binghamton, NY) logged his third cash of the season, grabbing $1,500 for himself and Jim All. (Windsor, NY) took $1,500 for his second straight cash of the Winter 2025 Season.
The two bigger stacks took home $1,600 each. Former Champion Mike Wh. (Kirkwood, NY) made his first cash of the season a good one and Russ Di. (Pine City, NY) continued his run good from the WSOPC at Turning Stone and logged his first cash of the season.
Our next full season will start on September 6, 2025 with the same structure as this Winter 2025 Season. We expect more players, bigger payouts and even more laughs so plan accordingly and join us this fall (if not sooner for one of our non-league tournaments between now and then) to line your pockets with extra cash!!!
