They Survived!!

On Friday night, 38 players (6 first timers) came out and laid down $65 to try and spin it up into $600. After 12 rebuys, we closed out registration with an even 50 entries. For this Survivor Tournament, this translated to the final five players receiving $600 each.

Players spent the entire evening unafraid to get their chips in the middle of the table. Rebuys came often and after the break, players were eliminated quickly. We reached a final table of nine players at 11 PM but four of them needed to be eliminated before anyone made the money.

Short stack Adam Po. (Binghamton, NY) was the first casualty, finishing in 9th place. Final table regular Rob Cl. (Conklin, NY) was the next to exit, followed by Bryant Mad. (Lisle, NY), making his second final table in only three appearances.

With six players left, all of the players agreed that they would rather have six survivors than five survivors. The six remaining players split the $3,000 prize pool evenly, with everyone receiving $500.

Matt Kur. (Binghamton, NY) was the chip leader at this time after coasting to the money on a big stack. Kevin Dum. (West Windsor, NY) and Tim Ril. (Afton, NY) maintained solid stacks throughout the final table, cruising into the money. Jackson Hoy. (Owego, NY) was the most active final table participant, building a solid stack that got him into the money. Scott Be. (Elmira, NY) and John Rod. (PA) worked short stacks to perfection, locking up their payouts.

We now take a long break (our Tournament Director is needed in Las Vegas for a couple of weeks) but will be back at it on Saturday July 19th at 4 PM with a $95 + $5 Bounty Poker Tournament. Make sure to be there!!
