Wednesday Winner!!!
In a special event where players could buy-in for as little as $20, add chips for another $20 and add even more chips for a third $20 bill, we had 48 players show up and engage in non-stop betting, bluffing and getting sucked out on. Eliminations came fast and furious and before long we were down to two tables of five players each, everyone trying their hardest not to be the bubble boy. Saturday’s third place finisher, Whitey (Kirkwood, NY) couldn’t avoid this fate, going out in 10th place with nothing but fond memories.
Charlie Lew. (Binghamton, NY) matched Saturday’s 9th place finish with a Wednesday 9th place finish, almost breaking even on the evening with an $85 payday. Anton Kal. (Westchester, NY) was our 8th place finisher, scooping $95 for his efforts. Mike Moy. posted his second consecutive cash at 607poker.com (and 5th overall in his last 5 tournaments that include other venues), taking down 7th place and $110.
First time player at 607poker.com, Colin Woo. (Binghamton, NY) had an impressive debut performance, placing 6th overall and taking home $150. This left us with three female players in the final five, each aiming to be the second outright female winner in our organization’s history. Joy Vo. (Ithaca, NY) couldn’t run up a short stack and was eliminated in 5th place, cashing for $195. Amanda Bru. (Conklin, NY) followed with a 4th place finish in only her second event with us. Amanda collected $265 for her impressive finish. Jane Mil. (Deposit, NY) took a solid stack into three handed play but didn’t see her KT improve against a pair of fives. Jane took home $400 for her efforts.
Colin Mor. (Lafayette, NY) and regular Jim All. (Windsor, NY) came into heads up play with fairly even stacks. While this battle didn’t last an hour and a half like Saturday night’s epic showdown, there was plenty of action. Jim eventually bowed out when his QJ couldn’t improve against Colin’s AK. Jim took $610 for his deep run, leaving Colin as the last man standing. He stood there holding $870 for his victory. After the tournament, only his second ever at 607poker.com, Colin mentioned how much he preferred his first place finish to the bubble boy finish in his previous event.
We won’t be off for long, gathering again on Saturday November 1st at 4 pm for a $65 buy-in tournament. Stop down and see if you can be the one to knock Colin off of his poker throne!!
