Bounty Madness!!

Because one tournament just didn’t seem to be enough on Saturday, we added in a bounty tournament later in the day. This was a $40 buy-in tournament that 67 players came out to play. With a mix of new players and bust outs from the championship event, we had lots of action, resulting in 27 rebuys for 92 total entries. The players that remained at the first break had the option to add-on additional chips if they contributed an additional $20 to the prize pool. We came out of the break with 58 players remaining, a $20 bounty on each of them and over $3,000 up for grabs to the top 11 finishers.

The presence of bounties only seemed to encourage action and players were eliminated at a rapid pace. Brandon Nel. (Cortland, NY) was out 11th place finisher, collecting $80 to go with two bounties for a profitable night. Following him with a 10th place finish was perennial money finisher Lona Whe. (Ithaca, NY). Lona picked up $90 for her finish and a single bounty.

This brought us to a final table, packed with players anxious to eliminate all of the competition. Rohan Gup. (Ithaca, NY) was our first final table casualty, exiting in 9th place for a $105 payout. The floor was so surprised by Rohan’s finish they forgot to record how many bounties he took down!! John Sut. (Ithaca, NY) recorded an 8th place finish, grabbing $120 to go with his 4 bounties. We can’t say it for certain but John and Lona appear to be the first husband & wife combination to cash in the same tournament at 607poker.com.

The next player to fall was Tyler Com. (Watson Town, PA). This was Tyler’s second cash of the month, taking home $140 and 2 bounties. Newcomer Keith Har. (Binghamton, NY) posted an impressive debut performance, finishing in 6th place for $170 and one bounty. Final table regular Cody Dec. (Windsor, NY) exited in 5th place, cashing for $205 and a bounty.

With only 4 players remaining, a chop was discussed. Scott Fer. (Port Crane, NY) was the shortest stack with Chad P. (McGraw, NY) and Scott Tho. (Conklin, NY) holding a slight chip lead over Scott Fer. Lucas Har. (The Binghamton University) was an overwhelming chip leader. After some hard negotiating, the players agreed on a staggered chop that let all of them leave happy. Scott Fer. claimed 4th place and a $470 payout to go with his 4 bounties. Scott Tho. (4 bounties) and Chad P. (7 bounties) pocketed $500 each for sharing 2nd & 3rd place. This left Lucas with $700 and 10 bounties for a 1st place finish.

Congratulations to all over our money winners on a job well done!
