PLOh No He Did It Again!!!
We got adventurous on Tuesday night and turned our traditional $20 + $20 tournament into a mixed game format. We started out playing No Limit Texas Hold Em and when the second level rolled around, we switched to Pot Limit Omaha. Then we switched again every level until the tournament was over. Chaos ensued. Players kept rolling in and players kept rebuying. And rebuying. And rebuying some more. We ended up with 97 entries, a prize pool north of $2100 and the top 13 finishers getting payouts.
With 14 players left, we had a double elimination, losing 607poker.com regular Tim Ril. (Afton, NY) and newcomer Gavin Ang. (Binghamton, NY) split the 13th place payout, pocketing $20 each. Robert Ric. (Afton, NY) was our next casualty, exiting in 12th place for a $55 payday. Tasha Roy. (Binghamton, NY) was the next player sent to the rail, finishing in 11th place for $65. Jack Gom. (Scranton, PA) just missed the final table, exiting in 10th place for a $75 payout.
After redrawing for the final table, Jim All. (Windsor, NY) fell short in his quest for back-to-back wins, bowing out in 9th place with a $75 payout. Stevie Joh. (Johnson City, NY) made his first final table appearance after a prolonged absence, taking home $85 for his 8th place finish. Joseph Sch. (Binghamton, NY) followed close behind, picking up $95 for his 7th place finish.
Kyle Roo. (Harpursville, NY) had a successful debut, not just with 607poker.com but in his first live tournament ever, grabbing $115 for his 6th place finish. Final table regular Rob McL. (Binghamton, NY) posted his second final table appearance in the last two weeks, receiving $140 for his 5th place finish. Whitey (Kirkwood, NY) broke a final table drought by building a big stack early and cruising to a 4th place finish for $180.
Our final three players then traded chips in a hard fought battle for the top spot. Dolly Ril. (Binghamton, NY) continued her recent hot streak, exiting in 3rd place and picking up $275. This left Mike Mil. (Deposit, NY) left to battle Jonny Mar. (Binghamton, NY). Mike started with a significant chip deficit and was unable to spin it up, finishing in 2nd place for a $415 payday. This left Jonny with his third outright win in the last four months. Jonny built a big stack early that allowed him to apply relentless pressure throughout the final table, resulting in yet another first place finish. With Jonny on such a successful run this fall, players may want to bring headphones to our next few events!!!
