No Need to Revive!!

On Saturday we ran our first ever Revival Poker Tournament. This was a tournament in which your first buy-in included a second chance chip. We had 43 players come out and with this format, only 6 rebuys were needed. With 49 total entries, we ended up paying the top 6 finishers out of the nearly $6,000 prize pool.

Due to simultaneous eliminations on our two remaining tables, we went to the table with 8 players. Seven of these players still had their revival chip and would need to be eliminated twice to be knocked out of the tournament. With seven players remaining, the players agreed to take money from the top 3 payouts and pay the 7th place finisher $130. Tim Ril. (Afton, NY) was the only player not to bring his revival chip to the final table and he was able to outlast one other player before being eliminated on the bubble and posting a $5 profit on the tournament.

Dan Wha. (Albany, NY) was the first player to head to the payout desk. Dan collected $295 for his 6th place finish. This marks Dan’s second cash in only three tournaments played at 607poker.com. To the surprise of absolutely no one, Jim All. (Windsor, NY) found himself at yet another final table. Jim exited in 5th place, picking up $415 for his efforts.

Roberto Vaz. (Scranton, NY) was the first player at the final table to redeem his revival chip but used the new stack to stick around for a 4th place finish and a $590 payday. Mike Mor. (Cortland, NY) was the last player to use his revival chip, allowing him to fight for a 3rd place finish. Mike pocketed $950 for his 3rd place finish.

This left Alex Kar. (Larchmont, NY) and red hot Jeff Smi.(Marathon, NY) fighting for the top spot. Not only did both players have deep stacks but incredibly, they both held on to their revival chips going into heads up play. After several hands of trading chips, the two finalists agreed to both forfeit their revival chips and finish the tournament with the chips left in front of them. The remaining heads up battle only lasted four hands. Alex found a way for his pocket fives to hold up against Jeff’s AJ, leaving Alex as the sole survivor in our inaugural revival event. Jeff took home $1,500 for his second place finish, continuing his 2026 sun run and Alex picked up $2,000 for his victory. Congrats to all of our money finishers!!
