The Three Card Assassin

This Tuesday’s installment of the $20 + $20 tournament was a mix game. Half No Limit Texas Hold Em and half No Limit Crazy Pineapple. With 57 people coming out to play action started off fast and furious with rebuys after the first hand. The players pumped 61 rebuys into the prize pool and followed it up with a slew of add-ons to give us a toral prize pool of $2,660 to be shared by our top 12 finishers.

With two tables and 14 players remaining, we had simultaneous eliminations on the two tables with Pat Rei. & Kevin Dum. sharing the bubble boy distinction. ICM implications were thrown out the window as fast paced action continued. Roberto Vaz. (Scranton, PA) made this his second cash of the week, picking up $55 for his 12th place finish. Mike Mar. (Watkins Glen, NY) recouped a chunk of his Tuesday Night investment with an 11th place finish worth $65. Jeff Smi. (Marathon, NY) had his final table streak snapped but still managed a money finish, collecting $80 for 10th place.

After a redraw for final table seating, Jay Hea. (Binghamton, NY) was the first final table casualty, exiting in 9th place for $95. This was Jay’s 5th Tuesday Night cash of the year and his 4th final table finish. Matt Cas. (Hancock, NY) worked a short stack for an 8th place finish worth $110. This was Matt’s 3rd Tuesday Night cash of the year. Dave O’N. (Port Crane, NY) logged his 4th Tuesday Night cash of the year with a 7th place finish for a $125 payout.

Mike Mil. (Deposit, NY) made this his second consecutive Tuesday Night finish in 6th place. Mike picked up $150 for his 6th place finish. Zawadi Yeb. (Johnson City, NY) followed Mike to the payout desk with a 5th place finish worth $175. This was Zawadi’s second Tuesday Night cash and her best finish on a Tuesday Night.

Perennial final tablist Dan Kan. (Maine, NY) was our 4th place finisher, taking home $230. This marks Dan’s 6th Tuesday Night cash of the year. All of his Tuesday Night finishes have been 6th place or better. After holding the chip lead for the entire final table, lady luck turned against Daric Dio. (Endicott, NY) when his opponent went runner runner in a Pineapple hand to make a straight against him. Daric posted a 3rd place finish, pocketing $345 for his 3rd Tuesday Night cash of the year (playing in a limited number of events).

Heads up play began with the two finalists holding comparable chip stacks. The players traded chips until Dan Bel. (Brooklyn, NY) moved all-in holding AK and was called by Jimmy Far. (Binghamton, NY) who woke up with 77. 77 had been Dan’s hot hand all night, helping him accumulate a hefty chip stack but proved to be his nemesis on the last hand when the board couldn’t produce an ace or a king. Dan took home $520 for his 2nd place finish. This was Dan’s first Tuesday Night cash of the year (he only found 607poker.com a few weeks ago). Jimmy was left with all of the chips and $710 for his 1st place finish. This is Jimmy’s 7th Tuesday Night cash of the year and second outright victory.
