Back in the Saddle Again!!
On Saturday night, we ran our second event in our Bounty Hunter series. This was an $80 buy-in No Limit Hold Em poker tournament in which there was a $20 bounty on every player. The nice weather resulted in a smaller crowd as 43 people showed up to shoot their shot. The smaller crowd did not mean less action as we ended up with 20 rebuys for a total of 63 entries. This gave us $3,150 to be distributed to our top 8 finishers.
The final 9 players had a redraw for final table seating and their was a unanimous decision to reward all of our final 9 players. The players agreed to take $10 off of each of the eight payouts, and pay 9th place $80. Lucky for Rob McL. (Binghamton, NY) everyone agreed as our would be bubble finisher received an $80 payout for his 9th place finish. Rob also cashed in three bounty chips for an extra $60. Tim Ril. (Afton, NY) put together an enormous chip stack early and cruised to the final table before the cards turned against him. Tim collected $85 for his 8th place finish along with three bounties worth an additional $60. Jack Dil. (Binghamton, NY) made a return to 607poker.com after an extended absence and showed out in his return. His flush draw didn’t come in, sending him to the payout desk with a 7th place finish worth $115 along with two bounties for an additional $40.
Wayne Win. (Johnson City, NY) found all of his chips in the middle of the pot while holding KK. His opponent rolled over JJ and Wayne was poised for a double up but a J on the flop and another on the turn left him drawing dead heading to the river. Wayne collected $150 for his 6th place finish to go with $40 for the two bounties he collected. Tasha Roy. (Binghamton, NY) also put together a massive chip stack early in the tournament and used it to punish her opponents on her way to a 5th place finish worth $220. Tasha eliminated four players on her path to 5th place, pocketing an extra $80. Nick Bab. (Cortland, NY) was chipped up early at the final table but was crippled when his AA couldn’t survive his opponent’s 22 after a 2 showed up on the flop. Nick picked up $320 for his 4th place finish but was the top bounty collector of the night with 10 knockouts worth $200.
Jimmy Far. (Binghamton, NY) was the short stack when three handed play began and it didn’t take long for all of his chips to find the middle of the table. Jimmy’s A7 was no match for his opponent’s Q9 after a Q showed up on the flop. Jimmy took home $480 for his third place finish to go along with a whopping zero bounties. Jimmy earned absolutely nothing for not collecting any bounties. Heads up play began with the chip leader for most of the final table, Bart Hur. (Conklin, NY) facing off against Paycheck (Binghamton, NY). Paycheck entered the final table as the short stack but built a large stack heading into heads up play. Heads up play was over quickly with Bart bowing out in 2nd place, earning $715 for his finish. Bart also collected 9 bounties along the way, pocketing an extra $180. This left Paycheck with all of the chips, $995 for his 1st place finish and seven bounties worth an additional $140.
As we head into our final event in the Bounty Hunter series, we have two players tied for the top spot and several more within striking distance. Come down on Saturday at 5 PM and see if you can collect a pile of bounties or at least play spoiler and knock out one of the players at the top of our leaderboard!
