Return to Glory
Early Saturday afternoon we fired up a $200 buy-in bounty tournament and 52 players came out to play. Deeper starting stacks didn’t slow down the action with 10 rebuys taken. This resulted in a prize pool, after bounties were taken out, of $8,850 to be distributed to our top 9 finishers. With $3,100 in bounties available, we were guaranteed to send people home happy.
We got down to two tables with five players each and the remaining players agreed to alter the payouts to get our bubble boy their money back. Frank San. was the lucky recipient of the bubble payout, collecting $200 for his 10th place finish. Add in one bounty and Frank posted a profit on the day. Dolly Ril. (Binghamton, NY) was our first final table member to exit, getting eliminated in 9th place for a $220 payout to go along with the bounty she collected.
Damien V. (Binghamton, NY) was our 8th place finisher, picking up $290 and one bounty. David Tra. (Binghamton, NY) overcame a slow start to work his way to a 7th place finish. Dave collected $380 to go with 2 bounties. Justin Ho. (Bainbridge, NY) built a big stack early and came into the final table second in chips. He couldn’t get any traction at the final table, exiting in 6th place and pocketing $470. Justin was the biggest bounty collector of the day, knocking out 7 opponents.
Dave May. fired a second bullet after his pocket aces got cracked early in the tournament but made the most of his second chance, working his way to a 5th place finish. Dave earned $600 for his efforts along with 2 bounties. Pat Cra. (Binghamton, NY) ended an an extended absence from 607poker.com in exciting fashion, battling to a 4th place finish worth $860. Add in 6 bounties and Pat posted a profitable day. Rob Mel. (Ithaca, NY) came into the final table short stacked and maneuvered his way to a 3rd place finish worth $1,260. Rob picked up 4 bounties along the way.
Heads up play began with Mark Gra. (Vestal, NY) holding a 2:1 chip lead over Jeff Smi. (Cortland, NY). Mark had a hot run of cards to build his monster chip stack but couldn’t keep that momentum going in heads up play. Mark bowed out in 2nd place, collecting $2,055 to go with the 5 bounties for his knock outs. This left Jeff with all of the chips, 5 bounties of his own and a payout of $2,555 for his outright victory. This marks Jeff’s second outright win at 607poker.comand his biggest payday to date. Congrats Jeff!!!
