The Scranton Connection
Another Tuesday came and went and we hosted another $20 buy-in tournament. We had 60 players come out and fire 69 rebuys in an effort to take this monster down. After a bunch of add-ons, we ended up with a prize pool of $3,040 to be distributed to the top 14 finishers.
With two tables remaining and 15 players working for a spot in the money, we had two players eliminated on the same hand at table 1. Devin Mel. had the misfortune to be the shorter stack of the two players eliminated, leaving him as the bubble boy. Ashley Mon. (Endicott, NY) was the other elimination on this hand, claiming 14th place and a $60 payout in her first tournament played at 607poker.com. Frank San. (Binghamton, NY) posted his second cash of the week with a 13th place finish worth $60.
Nancy Ree. (Binghamton, NY) posted a 12th place finish, earning $75. This is Nancy’s 10th Tuesday Night cash of the year, pulling her into a three way tie for the most Tuesday Night cashes. Nick Bab. (Cortland, NY) exited in 11th place, pocketing $75. This was Nick’s 3rd consecutive Tuesday Night cash (I guess he likes the new place)! Dave O’ne. (Port Crane, NY) just missed the final table, bowing out in 10th place and taking home $75 for his efforts. This was Dave’s 6th Tuesday Night cash of the year.
After a redraw for the final table, play resumed at the final table and Jay Hea. (Binghamton, NY) was our first casualty. Jay’s 9th place finish earned him $90. This cash broke a two month cold streak for Jay but was still his 8th Tuesday Night cash of the year. Shawn McB. (Endwell, NY) followed Jay to the payout desk. Shawn picked up $105 for his 8th place finish and his first Tuesday Night cash. Ed Leo. (Binghamton, NY) continued his recent hot streak with a 7th place finish worth $125. This marks Ed’s 3rd consecutive final table appearance (all cashes) in the last 8 days.
Carin Pal. (Binghamton, NY) built a massive chip stack early and cruised to the final table but her quest for a second Tuesday Night title ended when she exited in 6th place. Carin earned $150 for this finish, her 3rd Tuesday Night cash of the year. Laura Dir. (Johnson City, NY) posted her best Tuesday Night finish of the year with a 5th place exit that awarded her $200. This was Laura’s 4th Tuesday Night cash of the year and her second final table finish of the week. Justin She. was the next player heading to the payout desk. Justin took home $260 for his 4th place finish in his 1st Tuesday Night cash of the year.
Jack Sym. (Windsor, NY) enjoyed the chip lead for much of the final table but couldn’t keep it going, exiting in 3rd place. Jack picked up $380 for his finish. This was Jack’s 7th Tuesday Night cash of the year and second top 4 finish in back-to-back Tuesday Night events. The two remaining players agreed to chop the remaining prize pool evenly, both collecting $692. For Ann Lou. (Scranton, PA) this was her first Tuesday Night cash of the year in a pretty smooth trip to a top finish. For Phyllis Lee (Scranton, PA) this was her second Tuesday Night cash of the year. Phyllis is the epitome of the “go big or go home” philosophy as both cashes have been a chop between the top two players. Congrats to Phyllis and Ann on a job well done!!
