Guess Who’s Back?
It was freezing outside but the cards inside were running hot during Event #4 of our Winter 2025 Season! 57 players braved the elements to take their shot at this $60 buy-in No Limit Texas Hold Em Tournament with 18 of those players having to rebuy, bringing us to our largest number of buy-ins. With 75 total entries, nine players made the final table with all of them in the money.
Robert Ric. (Afton, NY) was the first casualty, picking up his first cash of the season while going out in 9th place and taking home $130. Even with a rebuy, Robert posted a profit for the evening! Defending champ Cody Dec. (Windsor, NY) ran his straight into a slightly higher straight, sending him to the rail in 8th place with a $150 payday. With his third cash of the young season, Cody has established himself as the man to beat this season. Dave Geo. (Owego, NY) worked a short stack through the final table but ran out of time in 7th place, taking home $185.
Regular Scott Tho. (Conklin, NY) notched his first cash of the season, getting knocked out in 6th place with a $225 payout. Dan Ka. (Hillcrest, NY) is now three for three in our tournaments, taking 5th place in event #4 and $280. Dan now has finished in 3rd, 4th & 5th place in three tournaments, putting him in 3rd place on the Season Points Leaderboard. With this kind of consistency, he will be tough to beat. Justin Pi. (Greene, NY) out-flopped his opponent only to see runner-runner Aces send him to the rail with a 4th place finish and $375. With his second cash of the Winter 2025 Season, Justin vaults into 7th place on the Season Points Leaderboard, following up a 4th place finish in the Fall 2024 Points Leaderboard.
With three players left, Mark Gras. (Vestal, NY) got his money in good with pocket kings but couldn’t fade an Ace on the flop (and another on the river) to go from chip leader to short stack. Mark was eliminated shortly after that brutal beat, recording his first cash ($470) for his 3rd place finish. Justin Ho. (Bainbridge, NY) had an took a short stack into heads up play but couldn’t survive a grueling heads up battle, finishing in 2nd place and taking home $770. This is Justin’s second runner-up finish this season, putting him in 5th place on the Season Points Leaderboard. This left Jim Fa. (Binghamton, NY) as the first place finisher, taking home $1,165. With his third cash of the season, Jim moves into 4th place on the Season Points Leaderboard.
We are only half way through the Winter 2025 Season so there is still time to qualify for the Championship Event (18 players have qualified through Event #4) and the Season Points Leaderboard is still wide open. Our next event is February 15th at 5 PM so come out and take your shot at being the next picture on our website!!
