A Good One To Win
Event #8 was the final tournament of the Winter 2025 Season in which players could accumulate points toward the Season Points Leaderboard. With a $90 buy-in, 70 players turning out for the tournament and 22 players re-buying, we ended up with our biggest prize pool ever! Action was fast and furious with several rebuys in the first level of play. With the top 11 finishers walking away with a cash payout, the final 12 players tightened up to make sure they made the money. The players agreed to take some prize money out of the top 3 spots and pay the bubble and Ted Mor. (New Milford, PA) was the first casualty, getting his $90 buy-in back for his 12th place finish.
Paycheck (Binghamton, NY) was the next player out, finishing in 11th place with a $160 payout for his second cash of the season. As players angled to make the final table, we had simultaneous eliminations on our two remaining tables with newcomers Sean Ch. (Walton, NY) and Andrew Rob. (Penn Yan, NY) splitting 8th and 9th place and taking home $212.50 each.
With the players unable to agree on a chop, Mark Sc. (Cortland, NY) was the next player eliminated, picking up $265 in his first event at 607 Poker League. Paul Sk. (Onondaga Nation) was the next player out, finishing in 7th place and taking home $325.
Chad P. logged his second cash in just three events, taking 6th place and $390 while moving into 7th place on the Season Points Leaderboard. Not to be outdone, Dan Ka. (Hillcrest, NY) finished in 5th place, logging his 4th cash in only 5 events played during the Winter 2025 Season. This consistent performance vaulted Dan into a 2nd place finish on the Season Points Leaderboard.
With 4 players battling for the majority of the prize pool, Mike Nor. (Binghamton, NY) went out first for his first cash in his first event of the Winter 2025 Season, taking home $620. One of our regulars went out in 3rd, with Jim Al. (Windsor, NY) taking home $720 for his third place finish and first cash of the season.
When we got to heads up play, the two remaining players agreed to chop the remaining prize pool. John Mat. (Wilkes Barre, PA) and newcomer Flip Nic. (Windsor, NY) picked up $1,510 each with Flip getting the glory of a first place finish based on his chip lead at the time of the chop. It was a good day for newcomers with 5 of the 12 people getting paid out being first time players this season.
Congrats to the top 9 finishers on the Season Points Leaderboard that each took a share of the $4,100 prize pool: Cody De. $1,495, Dan Ka. $850, Justin Ho. $485, Jim Poy. $325, Tim Mon. $260, Jim Fa. $2205, Chad P. $165, Rob McL. $140 & Scott Tho. $120.
