Another New Champ!
Event #6 of the Winter 2025 Season saw 57 players (including 10 first-timers) come out and take their shot at winning our $90 buy-in tournament. 15 players couldn’t fade bad cards or bad luck and had to rebuy, giving us 72 entries and over $5,000 in our prize pool.
With two tables of 5 players each left, the remaining 10 players agreed to take $90 out of the prize pool to pay the bubble. Regular Sarah Cat. (Lansing, NY) couldn’t run up a short stack and claimed the $90 for her 10th place finish. When we got to the final table, the remaining players agreed to a chop in which each of the 9 players would get $500 with first place getting an additional $300 and second place an additional $150. This led to fast and furious action with Bob Si. (Binghamton, NY) exiting in 9th place and claiming his $500. This was Bob’s second cash of the winter season.
Two time champion Justin Pi. (Greene, NY) was out in 8th place, recording his third cash in 5 events this season. This finish moved him into the top 10 on the Season Points Leaderboard. Event #5 runner-up Scott Th. (Conklin, NY) continued his hot streak with his third straight cash, exiting in 7th place and vaulting up to 7th place on the Season Points Leaderboard. Newcomer Josh Ech. was the next to be eliminated, posting an impressive 6th place finish in his first tournament at 607 Poker League.
Rob Cli. (Conklin, NY) posted his first cash of the season with a 5th place finish. Kevin Dum. (Windsor, NY) turned around his slow start to the Winter 2025 season with a 4th place finish. This finish put Kevin in the top 10 on the Season Points Leaderboard, putting himself in position to make a run up the leaderboard over the last two events of the season. First time player Chad P. went out in 3rd place and put himself in the top 15 on the Season Points Leaderboard. This strong finish put Chad in a position to cash on the Season Points Leaderboard despite this being his first game. We see a lot of familiar names in these write-ups but Chad & Josh showed it is anyone’s game at 607 Poker League.
Our heads up match pitted Season Points leader Cody De. (Windsor, NY) as a short stack against regular Jim Poy. (Greene, NY) who brought a 10-1 chip advantage to this battle. Cody managed an early double up but couldn’t overcome the deficit, finishing in 2nd place and taking home $650. The second place finish gives Cody a solid lead on the Season Points Leaderboard. Players are going to have to bring their A game to events #7 & #8 if they plan on passing Cody.
Jim posted his first win and second cash in only two events played this season, launching him into 3rd overall on the Season Points Leaderboard and positioning himself for a nice cash finish.
Based on total entries through the first six events of the Winter 2025 Season, we are projecting paying the top 9 finishers on the Season Points Leaderboard. The prize pool is currently projected to be at least $3,700, meaning 9th place would pick up about $110 and first place taking home about $1,350. With two events left, you have a chance to pick up a share of this massive prize pool so be sure to join us for Event #7 on March 8th at 5 PM!!!
