Cash That, Paycheck!!

With snow falling at a steady clip, Event #5 of our Winter 2025 Season looked like it could be in danger but 33 dedicated players braved the elements for their chance to post a victory. Action was fast and furious with 11 rebuys, building a $2200 prize pool.

We got to the final table quickly but our 9 finalists battled hard and it took a while to get down to the final five players, all in the money. Brandon Nel. (Cortland, NY) was out in 5th for his first cash of the season in only his second appearance. Brandon took home $200 for 5th place. Next out was Adam Dea. (Binghamton, NY) in 4th. This was Adam’s second cash in three appearances this season, vaulting him into the top 10 on the Season Points Leaderboard.

Showing consistency, last game’s 3rd place finisher followed that up with another 3rd place finish. Mark Gras. (Vestal, NY) overcame a crippling loss with five players left and ran up a 17K chip stack to take a 3rd place finish. His second straight cash ($375 for his 3rd place finish) moved Mark into the top 10 on the Season Points Leaderboard as well.

The heads up match was back and forth but Scott Tho. (Conklin, NY) couldn’t overcome the initial chip deficit when he ran top pair into two pair. This was Scott’s second straight cash ($550 in Event #5), helping create a logjam in the top 10 on the Season Points Leaderboard. This left Paycheck with all of the chips and the biggest chunk of cash, taking home $810 for his 1st place finish.

Event #6 will be held on Saturday, February 22nd at 5 PM. It is a $90 buy-in with bonus points available. Come out on Saturday and help make this our biggest tournament yet!
