Dominating a Thursday Night

A crowd of 47 players came out for a $30 buy-in tournament on Thursday evening. 35 rebuys later, we had a prize pool of $3,050 to be shared by our top 9 finishers. We were heading into the second break with 11 players remaining when a monster pot broke out. A three way all-in led to Ann Lou. (Scranton, PA) and Horacio Vic. (Syracuse, NY) being eliminated. They get the honorable bubble distinction while we headed to a redraw for final table seating.

When action resumed, it didn’t slow down. On the third hand of final table play, we had another double elimination. On a flop of Js9s8c, all of the chips went into the middle. The short stack had AcQc, the second shortest stack had JcTc and the chip leader had AsQs. The 6s on the river knocked out Dalia Att. (Lake Ariel, PA) out in 9th place and Jimmy Far. (Binghamton, NY) out in 8th place. Action continued at a rapid pace with Jerry Joh. (Scranton, PA) exiting right behind them with a 7th place finish worth $140.

Jim All. (Windsor, NY) was close behind Jerry, picking up $175 for his 6th place finish. Dan Sca. (Richford, NY) maneuvered his way to a 5th place finish, collecting $215. Mark Gra. (Vestal, NY) found his way to yet another final table before being bounced in 4th place for a $290 payday.

With three players remaining, things got interesting. The players agreed on an ICM chop but, in search of poker glory and getting their picture on our website, decided to play the tournament out. Max Spe. (Queens, NY) was the first player eliminated. Max took 3rd place in the record books but earned 2nd place money, taking home $725 for his efforts. This is Max’ second top three finish in the last three weeks. Justin Roo. (Rochester, NY) couldn’t overcome a serious chip deficit in heads up play, exiting in 2nd place with a payout of $540. Not too shabby for his first cash at 607poker.com. This left Skuyler Rey. (Chenango Forks, NY) with all of the chips and his first outright victory at 607poker.com. Skuyler came into the final table as chip leader and never relinquished the lead on his way to a dominating victory!
