Don’t Mess With Cortland!!

On Tuesday night, we ran another installment of our $20 buy-in tournament. We had 69 players come out to play (just missed last week’s record crowd) and those players fired 85 rebuys into the prize pool. With 154 total entries, we had a prize pool of $3,640 to be paid out to our top 16 finishers.

With three tables and 17 players remaining, we went to hand for hand play. Colin Mor. (Cortland, NY) called his shot earlier in the night, telling everyone he felt quite bubbly. His 17th place finish denied him his 5th Tuesday Night cash of the year. We moved down to two tables and John Mat. (Scranton, PA) took a rough beat when he got all-in against a short stacks TT and the big blind’s J3. A k63 flop gave John some hope but a T on the turn and a 3 on the river left him in third place that hand and our first finisher heading to the payout desk. John collected $70 for his 16th place finish. Kevin Dum. (West Windsor, NY) recorded his sixth Tuesday Night cash of the year with a 15th place finish worth $70. Laura Dir. (Johnson City, NY) ran her pocket queens into pocket kings to finish in 14th place for $70. Perennial favorite Daric Dio. (Endicott, NY) bowed out in 13th place, pocketing $70 for his efforts. This was Daric’s 4th Tuesday Night cash of the year.

With 12 players remaining, there was a payout jump and Max Spe. (NYC) exited in 12th place for a $90 payout. Max recorded his third Tuesday Night cash. Mike Bri. (Ithaca, NY) had a rough start to the night with several rebuys but got some hands to hold up after the rebuy period, launching him to an 11th place finish worth $90. This was Mike’s first Tuesday Night cash. Dani Jal. (Croatia) followed Mike to the payout desk, logging his first Tuesday Night cash with a 10th place finish worth $90.

The remaining nine players had a redraw for final table seating with Dolly Ril. (Binghamton, NY) recording a 9th place finish for $110. Despite missing months of play this year, this was Dolly’s third Tuesday Night cash of the year. Christian Pen. (Philadelphia, PA) maximized his ROI in this tournament by skipping rebuys and the add-on and still recording an 8th place finish worth $130. Cal Mac. (Pleasantville, NY) posted a 7th place finish, earning him $145. This was Cal’s third Tuesday Night cash in the last 4 weeks.

Newcomer Jim Kos. (Scranton, PA) put together an impressive debut, picking up $185 for a 6th place finish in his first 607poker.com event. Matt Mai. (Vestal, NY) posted his second Tuesday Night cash of the year with a 5th place finish for $240. Chad P. (McGraw, NY) put up his third Tuesday Night cash of the year, exiting in 4th place and picking up $310.

With three players remaining, Rog Sim. (Cortland, NY) got sent to the rail in 3rd place. In only his second event at 607poker.com, Rog logged an impressive performance, claiming a $435 payout. Heads up play began with Mark Gra. (Vestal, NY) at a significant chip deficit. Mark put up a tough fight but was eliminated in the first hand of heads up play. His second place finish earned him $640. Not bad for a max late reg!! This left Troy Fui. (Cortland, NY) with all of the chips and a 1st place finish for $895. This was Troy’s first cash at 607poker.com and he did it in style, dominating the final table.

Congrats to all of our money makers and thanks to everyone that came out for a fun night of poker! If seeing all of these people make some money has captured your interest, join us on May 19th for our next Tuesday Night Tournament.
