Double Trouble
Tuesday means $20 mayhem and we got plenty of it on January 13th. 46 players showed up and plunked down their $20. Pots were won, pots were loss and people rebought….a bunch. 41 rebuys later, we had 87 entries and were paying the top 11 players.
Action was non-stop but eliminations slowed when we got to two tables as everybody was eyeing the money. Derek Tho. (Binghamton, NY) had the misfortune of being the bubble boy, exiting in 12th place. Tasha Roy. (Binghamton, NY) notched a cash for her 11th place finish, recouping $50. Liam Mo. (Newark Valley, NY) found the money in only his second appearance at 607poker.com, finishing in 10th place and collecting $60.
With 9 players remaining, there was a redraw for the final table. In a 3 way all in, AK and KQ were taken out when QJ made a straight. This big hand sent Nancy Ree. (Binghamton, NY) to the rail in 9th place and Dave O’N. (Port Crane, NY) heading out in 8th place. Nancy picked up $70 and Dave, who started the hand with a larger chip stack, grabbed $80. Bart Hur. (Conklin, NY) continued his hot streak with a 7th place finish for $95.
Josaiah Fr. (Binghamton, NY) recorded his second cash at 607poker.com, picking up $110 for his 6th place finish. Matt Cas. (Hancock, NY) followed Josaiah to the exit, pocketing $130 for his 5th place finish. In our second three way all-in of the final table, we had two more casualties. Anton Kal. (Westchester, NY) brought a shorter stack into this hand, locking up a 4th place finish and $175 payout. Jonny Mar. (Binghamton, NY) made a triumphant return, taking 3rd place for a $255 payday.
Before heads up play could get started, our two finalists agreed on an even chop. Dan Ka. (Maine, NY) and Brendon Van. (Port Crane, NY) collected $465 each for their impressive performances. Their chop came from two different paths. Brendon had built a large stack early and applied constant pressure to reach heads up play with a pile of chips. Dan had to survive a called all-in on the money bubble and came to the final table as one of the shorter stacks before spinning it up at the best time. Congrats to both!!!
