Finishing Strong!
On Saturday November 15th we ran a $95 buy-in No Limit Texas Hold Em Tournament as the final event of our Fall 2025 Season. With 67 players coming out to take their shot at a victory, action was not in short supply. 15 rebuys later, we had a total of 83 entries and 10 spots to be paid.
We got down to our final 11 players and with concern about investing an evening of grueling poker with nothing to show for it, the remaining players agreed to take $95 out of the first prize and award it to the bubble finisher. Ted Mor. (New Milford, PA) was our unfortunate bubble finisher. Since Ted only had one buy-in, he got his initial investment returned.
Once we were in the money, Bart Hur. (Conklin, NY) was our first casualty. Bart’s 10th place finish in his second event with us earned him $175. The remaining players drew new seats as we went to the final table, only to see newcomer Paul Ste. (Port Crane, NY) exit in 10th place, picking up $175.
On a double elimination we saw Joe Nat. (Maine, NY) and Anton Kal. (Westchester, NY) exit on the same hand. Since Joe was the shorter stack at the start of the hand, he took 8th place and $205 in his first cash of the season. Anton claimed 7th place and $260 for his first cash of the season.
With six players working for the top spot, Mike Mar. (Watkins Glen, NY) finished in 6th place, taking home $320 for his efforts. This was Mike’s 4th cash in seven events this season. Final Table regular Rooster Dav. (Hancock, NY) also posted his 4th cash of the season with his 5th place finish. Rooster pocketed $405 for his 5th place finish. Mike and Rooster were the only players this season to post four cashes in the Fall 2025 Season.
Regular Dolly Ril. (Chenango Bridge, NY) posted her first cash of the season with a 4th place finish for $525. Dolly looks to keep this run good going heading into next week’s championship event. Lona Whe. (Ithaca, NY) spent most of her time at the final table building a large stack but lost momentum and bowed out with an impressive 3rd place finish for her 3rd cash in 6 events this season. Lona collected $815 for her third place finish.
Heads up play started with Jason Sho. (Binghamton, NY) and Kevin Dum. (West Windsor, NY) mixing it up with their eyes set on a big payday. The players exchanged chips for half an hour before agreeing on an even chop of the remaining prize pool. Both players collected $1,417 with Kevin claiming bragging rights of a first place finish as he ended with a slight chip lead. Kevin finished the season with two cashes in his last two events and looks to continue this hot streak into the Championship Event. Jason posted his third final table cash in only four events this season, making him a player to be reckoned with heading into the Championship Event.
