Fresh Faces Prevail!!
59 players came out on Saturday January 17th for the second event in our Winter 2026 League. 20 players found their way to the rebuy desk giving us a total of 79 entries with the top 10 finishers making the money. We went to hand for hand play with 11 players remaining. The field was a mix of our most dedicated regulars, some returning players and a few new faces.
Bootz Inm. (Binghamton, NY) was our unlucky bubble finisher, bowing out in 11th place. Following Bootz to the rail was Horacio Vic. (Syracuse, NY) in 10th place. Horacio posted an impressive return performance after missing the Fall 2025 season, picking up $120 for his efforts.
After a redraw for the final table, the final nine players went to war with Bart Hur. (Conklin, NY) becoming the first casualty at the final table. Bart took home $120 for his 9th place finish. Sharon Van. (Binghamton, NY) continued her recent hot streak with another cash, finishing in 8th place and taking home $140. Following Sharon to the exit was Frank San. (Binghamton, NY) with a 7th place finish for $180.
Tyler Cha. (Windsor, NY) posted his second cash in his last three tournaments at 607poker.com, collecting $220 for his 6th place finish. Lucas Har. (Owego, NY) made a triumphant return from his holiday break, finishing in 5th place for a $280 payout.
With four players remaining, it was a case of haves and havenots, with two very large stacks and two smaller stacks. Paycheck (Binghamton, NY), one of the smaller stacks, put up a fight but couldn’t spin up his stack, exiting in 4th place for a $360 payout in his second cash of January. Joy Ver. (Ithaca, NY) got some momentum early in three handed play but couldn’t sustain it, exiting in 3rd place. For her first cash with 607poker.com, Joy pocketed $555.
This left us with a heads up match between good friends Mike Bri. (Ithaca, NY) and Marc Sco. (Brooktondale, NY). Despite holding an overwhelming chip lead, Marc agreed to chop the remaining prize pool with each player receiving $985. The only two new players to make the money, made the most of it, with a pair of dominating performances. Congrats to our new winners!!
In two league events, we have had 21 different people make the money, none of them in both events. This means the Season Points Leaderboard is wide open, even if you missed the first two events. Head down on Saturday January 31st for Event #3, a $95 buy-in tournament with extra points up for grabs!!
