Guess Who’s Back???
The Bigger Bounty Tournament, our second event in the Big, Bigger, Biggest Tournament Series, went off with 58 players Saturday night. The deeper stack limited the number of rebuys needed, with only 13 players having to rebuy. The total of 71 entries resulted in 9 places being paid and 71 bounties of $20 to be claimed.
With two tables and ten players remaining, everyone agreed to take $80 from the top payout and pay the bubble finisher. As luck would have it, two players were eliminated (one from each table) on simultaneous hands. Sarah Ca. (Lansing, NY) and Kathleen Ed. split the bubble payout and the nineth place payout, picking up $110 each. With two bounties collected by Sarah and three collected by Kathleen, the sting of missing the final table was softened.
Steve Ril. (Binghamton, NY) continued his run of final table finishes, taking 8th place, $160 and three bounties. Jade Wa. was the 7th place finisher, picking up $200 to go with his 3 bounties.
Ben Cab. (Johnson City, NY) was the next player to exit, finishing in 6th place and taking home $240 to go with $100 for his 5 bounties. Newcomer Jeff Sm. was the next player to hit the rail. For an impressive debut performance, Jeff earned $300 plus 2 bounties.
There were all familiar faces in the final four this week. Mark Gr. (Vestal, NY) bowed out in 4th place, taking home $375 plus four bounties. Jim Al. (Windsor, NY) came into the final table as one of the short stacks but ran it up into a 3rd place finish and $490 to go with his two bounties. This was Jim’s third cash in his last four events.
Matt Ke. (Vestal, NY) took a 2:1 chip deficit into the heads up battle, while working toward his second outright win at 607 Poker. After a tough battle, he lost a race to finish in 2nd place, winning $750 and picking up an additional $120 for his 6 bounties.
This left Jimmy Fa. (Binghamton, NY) as the last man standing, taking home $1,150 for the victory, along with $200 for the 10 bounties collected.
The leaderboard for the Top Bounty Collector has tightened up after two weeks but with one tournament left, anyone has a shot to jump into the top 5 (all of the top 5 get paid out). Check out the standings at https://607poker.com/standings/?plp_season=976
