Holiday Heros!!!
On Saturday December 27th, we had 45 players show up and plunk down $160 each in an attempt to drag some pots, knock out some opponents and pull some envelopes containing large cash prizes. Twelve of these players ran short on luck in the early stages of the tournament and had to rebuy, giving us a total of 57 entries. With a $40 add-on at the break, players came back with extra chips and added incentive to eliminate their competition. With over $3,000 in bounties and over $6,500 in prizes being paid out to the top 7 finishers, players pushed the action to lock up their share of this massive prize pool.
After a final table redraw, Chad P. (McGraw, NY) just missed out on keeping his recent hot streak going, finishing in 8th place as our bubble boy. Chad picked up one bounty for $30 on his run to the final table. Anton Kal. (Westchester, NY) was our 7th place finisher. This was Anton’s third cash in December and he picked up $265 for his 7th place finish to go along with his two bounties.
First time player Chris Pas. locked up a 6th place finish for $330. Chris also grabbed four bounties along the way for an additional $460 payout. Tournament regular Matt Kel. (Binghamton, NY) posted a 5th place finish. Matt picked up three bounties for $150 to go along with his $465 payout.
With four players left, there was a long discussion about chopping the remaining prize money. However, with an envelope containing $500 yet to be pulled, there were additional considerations. In the end, a deal was reached amongst the final four competitors. Cody Dec. (Windsor, NY) continued his hot run through the month of December, taking home $1,200 for his portion of the chop. Newcomer Chuck Dew. (Rome, PA) put up an impressive debut performance, also taking home $1,200 for his portion of the chop. A slightly larger share of the prize pool went to the two biggest stacks. Frank San. (Binghamton, NY) and Dan Whe. (Albany, NY) grabbed $1,560 each as their part of the chopped prize pool The four players also split the four remaining bounties for an additional $195 each. It got a little hectic during the payouts so the admins missed the total number of individual bounties and the prizes claimed by each of the final four finishers but it was clear that Dan Whe. was the biggest Mystery Bounty fan. Dan collected far and away the most envelopes and over $700 of individual bounties.
Great work by all of our holiday winners!!!
