League Action Heats Up

Event #5 of our Winter 2026 Season saw 64 players come out to win money and move up the Season Points Leaderboard. 20 of these players took a rebuy, resulting in a prize pool of $4,200 to be divided up amongst the top 10 finishers.

With 11 players remaining at two tables, hand for hand play began. Tournament regular Joe Nat. battled with a short stack but couldn’t find a needed double up to finish his night as the bubble boy. Newcomer Justin Mar. (Greene, NY) found a payout in his first tournament at 607poker.com. Justin earned $130 for his 10th place finish.

The players then had a seating redraw before final table play commenced. Dolly Ril. (Binghamton, NY) posted a solid showing in her return to league play, notching a 9th place finish for $130. Lona Whe. (Ithaca, NY) posted her first cash of the Winter 2026 Season, collecting $150 for her 8th place finish. Final table regular Paul Ste. (Port Crane, NY) followed the ladies to the rail. Paul picked up $190 for his 7th place finish, moving him into third place on the Season Points Leaderboard.

Whitey (Kirkwood, NY) posted his second final table finish of the week, grabbing a $235 payout for his 6th place finish. Keep an eye out for him as he is playing his best poker at the perfect time. Kevin Pea. (Binghamton, NY) posted his first final table cash of the season, finishing in 5th place and taking home $300. Ako Maj. (Endicott, NY) found a 4th place finish in only his second tournament at 607poker.com. Ako collected $380 for his 4th place finish.

Dan Kan. (Maine, NY) recorded a 3rd place finish for $590. This is his second cash of the Winter 2026 Season, pulling him into the top 10 on the Season Points Leaderboard. With two players remaining, a deal was reached. Wayne Win. (Johnson City, NY) was the shorter stack and agreed to a $1,000 payout for a 2nd place finish. After a long absence, it is good to have Wayne back dragging pots and collecting cash. This left Jason Sho. (Arkansas) as our 1st place finisher. Jason was the chip leader wire-to-wire at this final table, collecting $1,095 for his 1st place finish. The victory moves Jason into 6th place on the Season Points Leaderboard. This is also Jason’s 2nd outright victory in the last two seasons. Nice work!!

There is very little separation on the Season Points Leaderboard through 5 events. With 3 events remaining (two of which have higher points awarded) we are literally in an anyone can win situation. The winner of Event #6 will most likely be in the top 10 after that event, poised for a payout. The last three events take place on 2/28, 3/14 & 3/21. Don’t miss them!!!!
