Mystery Solved!!

There were a lot of mystery’s at the card room on Saturday night. How many players would leave the first sunny day in weeks behind and show up to play cards? Who would pull the $500 mystery bounty certificates (we ended up with two of them)? Who would win our biggest buy-in event yet? What was for dinner? All of these questions were answered.

43 players came out to play and even with deeper stacks and longer levels, we ended up with 14 rebuys. 35 players survived until after the dinner break (subs from Wegmans to answer that question) and were ready to knock people out, pull envelopes and pocket cash! The top 8 players were going to make the money but they wouldn’t be fighting for one of the big bounties. Paycheck (Binghamton, NY) missed the final table but drew a $500 envelope, easing the sting of the bad beat he received a little bit.

The players got to the final table with several big bounties left to be pulled but Dustin Da. (Binghamton, NY) wasn’t able to spin up his short stack and just missed the money. Jimmy Fa. (Binghamton, NY) was the 8th place finisher, picking up a $170 payout to go with the two bounty envelopes he pulled. Following right behind was Matt Sh. (Unadilla, NY) with his first cash in a 607poker.com event. $230 for 7th place and two bounty envelopes left him with a solid profit on the night.

Final table regular Mark Gr. (Vestal, NY) exited in 6th place, picking up $315 to go with a couple of bounties of his own. Tim Mon. (Newark Valley) pulled out of an extended period of run bad with a 5th place finish and $400. The only bad part of breaking his recent dry spell was he didn’t get to pull any envelopes.

Wie were down to 4 players with $4580 in the prize pool and $780 in bounties left to be won. The players agreed on an even chop of both the remaining prize pool and bounties. Newcomer Bryant Mad. (Lisle, NY) took home $1340 along with $380 in previously pulled bounties for an impressive debut performance. Mike Bra. (Elmira, NY) logged his first cash at 607poker.com in impressive fashion, picking up $1340 plus another $80 in bounties. Another newcomer, Sean Coo. (Kirkwood, NY) also received $1340 to go with his $300 in bounties (all earned at the final table). Jim Al. (Windsor, NY) continued his recent hot streak of making final tables, going home with the $1340 plus $600 in bounties earned on his way to the final table.
