The Dynamic Duo

This Tuesday we ran our $20 buy-in with a $20 add-on tournament in a mixed format. The odd levels of play were no limit texas hold em and the even levels were pot limit omaha. 61 players showed up with some gamble in them, resulting in an overwhelming 75 rebuys. When the dust settled, we had a $3,040 prize pool to be distributed to our top 14 finishers.

With 15 players remaining, hand for hand play begun but in the first hand, Laura Dir. couldn’t get her pocket tens to hold up against AQ, becoming our bubble finisher. Roberto Vaz. (Dupont, PA) followed up his win on last Tuesday with another cash this week. Roberto picked up $65 for his 14th place finish. Daric Dio. (Endicott, NY) continued his string of recent cashes with a 13th place finish for $65. Mark Gra. (Vestal, NY) followed up his Friday night victory with another cash, collecting $80 for his 12th place finish. Jim All. (Windsor, NY) followed Mark to the rail, picking up $80 for his 11th place finish. Dolly Ril. (Binghamton, NY) just missed the final table with a 10th place finish for $80.

After a redraw for seating at the final table, play resumed and Jimmy Far. (Binghamton, NY) wasted no time in torching a deep stack and claiming a 9th place finish for $95. Frank Gal. (Long Island, NY) got his short stack in with Q8 and was poised to double up against his opponent’s 54 until a 4 on the river ended Frank’s night. Frank won $110 for his 8th place finish and first cash at 607poker.com.

Lucas Har. (Owego, NY) built a big stack early and coasted to the final table, finishing in 7th place for $125. Cash game regular and Omaha specialist Pudge (Binghamton, NY) found his first tournament cash at 607poker.com with a 6th place finish for $155. Kevin Dum. (West Windsor, NY) claimed his second straight Tuesday night cash with a 5th place finish for $200. Kevin got it in with A8 against his opponent’s K4 and felt good until he saw two fours on the flop. A king on the river added insult to injury, sending Kevin to the rail.

Tasha Roy. (Binghamton, NY) posted her second Tuesday night cash in three weeks, exiting in 4th place when her Q9 couldn’t overcome her opponent’s KT. Tasha picked up $260 for her 4th place finish. Jacob Sch. (Waverly, NY) bowed out in 3rd place, recording his highest finish at 607poker.com. Jacob scooped $380 for his 3rd place finish.

Heads up play began with pretty even stacks. After significant deliberation about who was the biggest luckbox at 607poker.com, the remaining two players agreed it was a complete shot in the dark as to who would be luckier this night. An even chop was then agreed to. Gus Van. (Binghamton, NY) and Whitey (Kirkwood, NY) took home $670 for their impressive performance. When reached for comment, Gus said “I didn’t know you could only use two of your cards in Omaha!” and Whitey said “I would come here more often if I knew you could leave with money!”

Congrats to all of our winners on a job well done! Tuesday March 24th we will do this all over again but this event will not include Omaha. Join us for a fun night out!!
