The Hired Gunn

On Saturday we ran our largest buy-in tournament to date, a $300 PKO. We had 37 players come out for this event, 4 of which took a rebuy. This gave us a prize pool of $8,280 to be distributed to the top six finishers. All players also started with a bounty of $80 on their heads. When a player was eliminated, half of their bounty was paid in cash and the other half was added to the eliminator’s bounty.

With seven players remaining, a consensus was formed to take $150 off of both the first and second place prizes to pay the bubble. Tim Ril. (Afton, NY) had the misfortune to claim the bubble boy title in this event but since Tim won last Saturday’s satellite, the $300 payout still netted him a profit for this event. Final table staple Dan Kan. (Maine, NY) was our 6th place finisher, continuing what seems to be an endless streak of final table appearances. Dan collected $415 to go with $120 in bounties.

Fresh off of an outright win last Saturday, Alex Kar. (Westchester, NY) posted an impressive finish that fell short of his goal to repeat. Alex took home $580 for his 5th place finish. Newcomer Chris Bru. (Walton, NY) showed there was more to his game than beginner’s luck, putting up a 4th place finish in his first event at 607poker.com. Chris scooped $830 to go along with his bounties. Tournament regular Joe Nat. (Maine, NY) put up his largest cash at 607poker.com with a 3rd place finish worth $1,370. Add in some bounties and it was a solid day’s work for Joe.

Before heads up play began, the two remaining players agreed to chop the remaining prize pool and keep their own bounties. Kyle Bes. (Bainbridge, NY) took $2,390 for his share of the chop to go with his bounty worth $445. Eddie Gun. (Binghamton, NY) had a slight chip lead entering heads up play and walked away with $2,395 along with his own bounty of $610.

Congrats to all of our money finishers on a job well done!!
