The Humble Champ

On August 11th, we laced em up and went to work on another $20 buy-in tournament. 69 players came out, bought in and checked, folded & raised their way through the evening. 72 rebuys and we had a prize pool of $3,370 getting paid out to the top 15 finishers.

Coming out of the second break of the evening, we were down to two tables and 16 players, each working to avoid the distinction of being this week’s bubble finisher. Hand for hand play started coming out of the break and lasted one hand with Carin Pal. (Johnson City, NY) missing out on a payday. Paul Sky. (Onondaga, NY) was our first finisher in the money. Paul collected $70 for his 15th place finish, his second Tuesday Night cash in the last month. Tim Ril. (Afton, NY) followed Paul to the payout desk, picking up $70 for his 14th place finish. This was Tim’s 4th Tuesday Night cash of the year. Joe Sod. (Brackney, PA) recorded his first Tuesday Night cash with a 13th place finish good for $70.

Jack Dil (Binghamton, NY) also posted his first Tuesday Night cash, making a pay jump and pocketing $85 for his 12th place finish. Dan Kan. (Maine, NY) made a too familiar trip to the payout desk to collect $85 for his 11th place finish. Dan’s 12th Tuesday Night cash of the year puts him ahead of all other players for most Tuesday Night cashes. Christian Pen. (Philadelphia, PA) just missed a final table appearance, exiting in 10th place. Christian earned $85 for this finish, his 2nd Tuesday Night cash of the year.

The remaining 9 players consolidated at the final table, drawing new seats and preparing to battle. The battle didn’t last long for Jimmy Far. when his A6s ran into pocket kings and couldn’t improve. Jimmy’s 9th place finish resulted in a $100 payout, his 11th Tuesday Night cash of the year. Kevin Dum. (Windsor, NY) broke a Tuesday Night cold streak with an 8th place finish worth $115. This was Kevin’s 8th Tuesday Night cash of the year. Mick Mar. (Greene, NY) had the most impressive first Tuesday Night cash, lasting until 7th place and taking home $130.

Jack Gom. (Lake Ariel, PA) worked a short stack into a 6th place finish, earning him $170. This was Jack’s 7th Tuesday Night cash of the year. Bootz Inm. (Binghamton, NY) turned a last minute rebuy into a deep run, terrorizing her opponents on the way to a 5th place finish worth $220. This was Bootz’ 2nd Tuesday Night cash of the year. Rob McL. (Binghamton, NY) parlayed flopped quads into a deep run, bowing out in 4th place and picking up $285. This was Rob’s 8th Tuesday Night cash and his second consecutive 4th place finish in Tuesday events.

Phyllis Lee (Scranton, PA) continued her go big or go home strategy, logging a 3rd place finish worth $405. This was Phyllis’ 3rd Tuesday Night cash, all of which are 3rd place or better finisher. Mike Mil. (Deposit, NY) continued his hot streak and mounted an impressive comeback from a final table short stack to record a 2nd place finish worth $605. This was Mike’s 2nd consecutive Tuesday Night cash and his 4th of the year. This left a player that doesn’t want any of the accolades (Las Vegas, NV) left with all of the chips and a 1st place finish worth $875. This guy brought a big stack to the final table and never took his foot off of the gas, working his way to the outright victory. Want to see who won this event?
