The Mad Russian Emptied Their Pockets!!!
The Big Bounty Tournament took place on Saturday Night with 57 players taking their shot at collecting a bunch of bounties. 25 rebuys later and we had a prize pool of $3,280 to be paid out to our top 10 finishers. Plus, every knockout earned the winner a $10 bounty.
With two tables and 11 players remaining, we started hand for hand play. Dan Bel. claimed the bubble boy title for this week, exiting in 11th place. Dan was able to redeem three bounty chips to lessen his loss on the night and put him in contention on the Bounty Hunter Leaderboard. Normal play resumed with Dave Iro. (Binghamton, NY) bowing out in 10th place for a $100 payout in addition to his single bounty.
The remaining players had a redraw for final table seating. John Sut. (Ithaca, NY) was our first final table elimination, picking up $100 for his 9th place finish to go along with four bounties. Mick Mar. (Greene, NY) posted his first money finish at 607poker.com, collecting $115 for his 8th place finish. Matt Geo. (Cortland, NY) broke a recent cold streak with a 7th place finish worth $150. Matt also redeemed two bounty chips to add $20 to his win for the night.
Tim Ril. (Afton, NY) posted a 6th place finish worth $185 to go along with 4 bounties for an additional $40. Paul Sky. (Onondaga, NY) made a strong comeback to 607poker.com, putting up a 5th place finish for a $230 payout. Paul also collected 2 bounties. Laura Dir. (Johnson City, NY) maintained a big chip stack throughout the final table and had a chance to take the overall chip lead when she got her pocket kings in preflop against the chip leader’s pocket fours. The turn had other plans, providing her opponent with a third four and sending Laura to the payout desk. Laura collected $285 for her 4th place finish to go with the 3 bounties she collected.
With three players remaining, Mark Gra. (Vestal, NY) got it all in preflop with AJ but ran into our chip leader’s AQ and couldn’t improve. Mark pocketed $460 for his 3rd place finish as well as 4 bounties. Lona Whe. (Ithaca, NY) went into heads up play with a serious chip deficit and put up a good fight but couldn’t gain any ground against our chip leader. Lona’s 2nd place exit earned her $690 to go with the three bounties collected. This left Anton Kal. (Westchester, NY) with all of the chips and $955 for his 1st place finish. This is Anton’s first outright victory in a 607poker.com event after several cashes. Anton also picked up 12 bounties on his victory lap, putting him at the top of the Bounty Hunter Leaderboard with two events remaining.
