The New Champ
Event #3 of our Winter 2025 Season saw 57 players come out and plunk down $90 each for their chance to take down a 607 Poker League title. 16 of these players had to rebuy, bringing us to a total of 73 entries and a prize pool to be paid out of over $5,100.
We got to a final table of 9 players, all of which were in the money. Action was fast and furious as regular Bob Si. (Binghamton, NY) was eliminated on the first hand of the final table, picking up $185 for his efforts. Newcomer Tom Lac. (Greene, NY) was not far behind, finishing in 8th place and taking home $215. Jeremy Wr. (Deposit, NY) finished in 7th place, getting paid $260.
Event #2 winner Rob McL. (Johnson City, NY) put together another impressive finish, working a short stack to finish in 6th place and come away with $310. Dan Ka. (Hillcrest, NY) posted his second consecutive cash (in only his second event), taking home $390 for a 5th place finish.
Bryan (Scranton, PA) couldn’t get his pocket aces to hold up and finished in 4th after a pretty bad beat, winning $520. Jim Po. (Whitney Point, NY) in his first event of the Winter Season, made it to 3rd place and picking up $650 in the process.
When we got to heads up play, Event #1 winner Tim Mon. (Newark Valley, NY) had a commanding chip lead over final table regular Cody Dec. (Windsor, NY) and the two agreed to chop the money, splitting $2,650. They then waged war on each other, playing for the points on the Season Points Leaderboard and to determine a champion. Heads up play was back and forth but Cody Dec. mounted a big comeback to take down the title.
Through three events, we have over $1,400 in the prize pool for the Season Points Leaderboard. We are on pace to have over $3,500 in this prize pool and with five more events to go this season, it isn’t too late to be a contender even if you haven’t played yet this season.
Our Championship Event on March 29th is also on pace to have $3,500 added to the prize pool this season. You only have to play in four regular season events to qualify for the Championship Event so be sure to join us on February 1st at 5 PM for a $60 tournament!
