This is Getting Ridiculous!!

We were at it again on Saturday evening, this time a $70 buy-in bounty tournament. The nice weather resulted in a smaller field of 29 players but they came looking for action, firing 14 rebuys. Our prize pool of $2,165 was set to be shared by our top 6 finishers.

With seven players remaining and everyone’s eyes on making the money, a big pot was brewing. Steve Ril. (Binghamton, NY) flopped a set of fives on a board of 765 and his flop all-in was called by Jeff Smi. and his pocket nines. The 8 on the turn was a dagger to Steve. The brick on the river sent him to the rail, collecting $15 for a single bounty but claiming the bubble boy title.

Tom Par. (Ithaca, NY) came into the final table as the short stack but managed to navigate his way to a 6th place finish worth $110. Tom picked up two bounties along the way, making it a profitable night. Jimmy Far. (Binghamton, NY) slow played pocket aces into a 5th place finish that earned him $150. Jimmy also had the misfortune to last this long without picking up a single bounty. Ben Cab. (Binghamton, NY) ran hot at the beginning of the final table, picking up big starting hands in perfect spots and building a stack that led to a 4th place finish. Ben collected $220 to go along with 2 bounties on the night.

With three players remaining, Scott Bes. (Elmira, NY) found himself as the short stack. Scott had been down to 20,000 chips (with 15,000 big blind) with 5 players remaining but found a way to come up with a 3rd place finish. This finish earned Scott $360 to go with 1 bounty. This left Jeff Smi. (Cortland, NY) with a 3:1 chip deficit against Jim All. (Windsor, NY). Jeff put up a valiant fight but could not capture his 3rd 607poker.com victory, exiting in 2nd place. Jeff took home $560 for his 2nd place finish and was the biggest bounty collector of the night, cashing in 7 bounty chips. This meant for the second time in two tournaments, Jim reigned supreme. Jim is the first back-to-back champion in the two year history of 607poker.com and this is his 4th outright victory. This is no easy accomplishment. Hats off to Jim!!!!

Get down here on Tuesday to help prevent the threepeat!!
