Tuesday Turmoil
With temperatures approaching double digits on Tuesday evening, people finally dug themselves out of the weekend storm and trudged down to 607poker.com to try and win some money. 47 players (our largest Tuesday crowd to date) showed up and showed out, firing chips left and right. Sure, we needed 45 rebuys before we hit the break but this left us with a prize pool of $2,100 that would be paid out to our top 10 finishers.
After an extended hand for hand battle, we got to our money finishers and Anthony Dev. (Binghamton, NY) was the first player to head to the payout counter. Anthony flopped an open ended straight draw with two overcards to the board against second pair but couldn’t hit any of those outs on the turn or river to exit in 10th place and collect $65. The remaining 9 players had a redraw for the final table and play resumed. Kyle Wal. (Elmira, NY) wasn’t able to spin up his short stack and became the first final table elimination, picking up $65 for his 9th place finish. This was Kyle’s first cash at 607poker.com in only his second event. Fellow short stack Arnie Ben. found a double up on the first hand of final table play but ran into trouble right after, exiting in 8th place for a $75 payout.
Nancy Ree. (Binghamton, NY) made her third straight Tuesday night final table, finishing in 7th place and taking home $95. Jim All. (Windsor, NY) made his second straight Tuesday night final table but ran into a cooler in a blind vs. blind situation when his KQ could not improve against AK. Jim picked up $120 for his 6th place finish. Max Spe. (Queens, NY) notched his first cash in a 607poker.com tournament when his KQ couldn’t overtake his opponent’s A9. Max earned a 5th place finish and $150 for his deep run.
With 4 players remaining, Lucas Har. (Owego, NY) got it in with 44 against A7, only to see his opponent outflop him, sending him to the rail in 4th place. This 4th place finish goes nicely with 5th place and 2nd place finishes earlier in January, resulting in a $190 payday. Tim Ril. (Afton, NY) claims the worst bad beat of the final table, getting all of his chips in the middle preflop with AK against his opponents KJs. Two jacks on the flop spelled doom for Tim, sending him to the rail in 3rd place with a $275 payday.
Franklin Sag. (Endwell, NY) entered heads up play with a significant chip deficit but got his chips in quickly with a pocket threes against his opponent’s A7. Two sevens on the flop proved to be too many and Franklin exited in 2nd place, collecting $420. This left Jimmy Far. (Binghamton, NY) as the last man standing. Jimmy won an absurd number of coin flips to take down the Tuesday night title and pick up $645 for his 1st place finish.
We will be back at it next Tuesday where you can take a chance to turn your $20 buy-in into over $600!! Be there at 6 PM on February 3rd.
