Twice is Nice
How do you get the poker player at the top of the Season Points Leaderboard? You start with a bunch of unbridled aggression, add in a heap of smack talk, sprinkle in some run good and toss in a huge laydown. Then you have our first player to record two outright wins in the same season!! Congrats to Jonny Mar.
With 8 full tables of 64 players looking to make some money, chips were moving early and often in Event #5 of the Fall 2025 League. 20 players made a second trip to the registration desk to exercise their rebuy option, leaving us with 84 entries and the top 10 finishers poised to leave with extra cash.
The early action got us to the money bubble in record time, only to see Sharon Van’s good run came up a bit short, resulting in a bubble finish. Dennis Day (Albany, NY) continued an impressive run, making this his fourth cash in four Fall 2025 Season events (Dennis is 5 for 5 in all events played at 607poker.com). His 10th place finish got him $125 and enough points to maintain 3rd place on the Season Points Leaderboard. Kathleen Edw. (Lafayette, NY) followed Dennis to the payout desk, locking up a 9th place finish and $150 for her efforts.
Jeff Smi. (Marathon, NY) posted his first cash of this season, taking 8th place for $175. In her first cash at a 607poker.com event, Boots In. (Chenango Forks, NY) put up a 7th place finish for a $200 payday. Rob Cac. (Endwell, NY) found his second cash in only his second event of this season, locking up 6th place and $235.
Eliminations at the final table slowed as each player put on their game faces, looking to move up the pay ladder as they eyed a victory. Jim All. (Windsor, NY) was our next finisher, bowing out in 5th place for a $275 payday. This was Jim’s first cash of the Fall 2025 Season. Event #4 runner-up Jason Sho. (Binghamton, NY) ran up a big stack before running into some bad luck and finishing in 4th place. Jason took home $380 and moved into 5th place on the Season Points Leaderboard. Mike Mar. (Watkins Glen, NY) managed a 3rd place finish for his third cash in four events this season. Sitting in 6th place overall on the Season Points Leaderboard makes Mike a player to watch out for over the last three events of this season.
Heads up play between Lona Whe. (Slatterville Springs, NY), looking for her first outright win at 607poker.com to add to an early season cash and perennial final table finisher Jonny Mar. (Binghamton, NY) was fast and furious. The key hand found Jonny put to the test with AT on a board of T22. Facing Lona’s all-in bet, Jonny went deep into the tank before finding the fold and finding out he was up against Q2!!! Soon after, Jonny scooped a massive pot and all of the chips, locking up his second win of the season. The second place finish put Lona into the top 15 on the Season Points Leaderboard. The outright win vaulted Jonny to the top of the Leaderboard, putting a bullseye on him for all of the remaining events!!
Through 5 tournaments, we have 40 players that have qualified for the Fall 2025 Season Championship Tournament. If you have played in at least one event already this season, make it a priority to get to our final 3 tournaments of this season so you can join those 40 players in a tournament with close to $5,000 added to the prize pool!!
