Momma Said Knock You Out!!!!
For our last Saturday break before our summer vacation (don’t worry, vacation isn’t even a month long) we ran a Progressive Knock Out Tournament. Everyone bought in for $85 with $40 of that going to their bounty. Every time a player was knocked out, half of their bounty went into the knocker outer’s pocket and the other half was added to the knocker outer’s bounty. This meant that the longer you were in the tournament, the bigger your bounty became. With 49 players taking 21 rebuys we ended up with 70 entries and a prize pool of $2,730 to be paid out to our top 9 finishers.
Hand for hand play started with two tables of five players each but it didn’t last long as Joanne Cro. (Binghamton, NY) exited just shy of the final table and a money payout. Mike Mil. (Deposit, NY) returned after a two month hiatus, built a big stack early and cruised to the final table. Unfortunately, he was our first final table casualty, picking up $70 for his 9th place finish to go along with $80 in bounties collected throughout the night. Bart Hur. (Conklin, NY) followed Mike to the payout desk, collecting $100 for his 8th place finish. Bart locked up $180 in bounties on his journey to the final table as well. Scott Tho. (Conklin, NY) broke a recent cold streak with a 7th place finish that earned him $130 to go along with $40 in bounties.
Al Tes. (Saratoga, NY) made an impressive debut performance at 607poker.com, registering a 6th place finish worth $160 and collecting bounties worth $50 on his journey. Dolly Ril. (Binghamton, NY) found a 5th place finish worth $195. Dolly also took down $80 in bounties during her final table finish. Mike Dun. (Binghamton, NY) parlayed a late registration into a deep run that ended in 4th place. Mike earned $260 for his 4th place finish and collected one bounty worth $20 along the way.
Eliminations were swift up until this point in the tournament but three handed play lasted an eternity. Jeff Smi. (Marathon, NY) found key double ups every time he needed them until he ran AT into AJ and couldn’t find any help on the board. Jeff’s 3rd place finish earned him $395, barely exceeding the $350 in bounties he claimed along the way. The heads up match started with Daric Dio. (Endicott, NY) holding a 60%/40% chip lead over Jimmy Far. (Binghamton, NY) but Daric came out firing and capturing the first pot with a bluff. That catapulted him into a chip lead that he would not relinquish, eliminating Jimmy in 2nd place. Jimmy collected $600 for his finish along with $365 in bounties. This left Daric with an $820 payday for his first outright victory at 607poker.com. Daric took home an additional $870 in bounties for his hard work! Congrats on the victory!!!
