No One Trick Pony

We ran our Tuesday Tournament on a Monday this week and mixed things up by making the tournament half no limit texas hold em and half no limit kansas city lowball. Lowball is a 5 card draw game in which the best low hand wins the pot (in this game 2,3,4,5,7 is the nut low). We had 41 players come out (impressive for a mixed game) and fire 50 rebuys. After the add-ons were done, we had a prize pool of $2,110 to be awarded to our top 10 finishers.

With two tables left, Mick Mar. was eliminated in 11th place, winning only the bubble boy distinction for the night. Dan Kan. (Maine, NY) was our 10th place finisher, taking home $60 for his efforts. This was Dan’s fourteenth Tuesday Night cash of the year, moving him into the lead for most Tuesday cashes. Rich Inm. (Binghamton, NY) took an incredibly bad beat when his A9 took a commanding lead on a flop of A73 against his opponent’s T3. The T on the turn sealed Rich’s fate, sending him home in 9th place with a $60 payout. This was Rich’s fifth Tuesday Night cash of the year.

The remaining players had a redraw for final table seating before play resumed. Skuyler Rey. (Chenango Forks, NY) was our first final table elimination, exiting in 8th place and pocketing $75. This was Skuyler’s first Tuesday Night cash of the year. Ann Lou. (Scranton, PA) followed Skuyler to the payout desk with a 7th place finish that earned her $95. This was Ann’s fourth Tuesday Night cash of the year.

Jimmy Far. (Binghamton, NY) got off to a hot start at the beginning of final table play but couldn’t keep that momentum going, exiting in 6th place and picking up $115. This was Jimmy’s thirteenth Tuesday Night cash of the year. Sharon Far. (Auburn, NY) held in long enough to best her son, bowing out in 5th place and taking home $145. This was Sharon’s first Tuesday Night cash of the year. Christian Pen. (Philadelphia, PA) fell short in his bid to go back to back on Tuesdays, finishing in 4th place for a $185 payday. This was Christian’s third straight Tuesday Night cash and fifth of the year.

Nicole (Oxford, NY) established herself as the top poker player in her household with a 3rd place finish for $285. This was Nicole’s first (and definetely not last) cash at 607poker.com. Jim All. (Windsor, NY) entered heads up play with a lot of work to do. Lucas Har. (Owego, NY) had a massive chip lead that he would not relinquish, sending Jim home in 2nd place. Jim collected $440 for his seventh Tuesday Night cash of the year. Lucas, who entered the final table with the chip lead and never gave it up, cruised to a 1st place finish for $650. This cash was Lucas’ 13th of the year, putting him in a tie for second most on the year but giving him a commanding lead as the top Tuesday Night money earner of the year.
