Big Tuesday Action

We held our normal Tuesday Night Tournament and ended up with our biggest Tuesday Night crowd yet. 81 players came out to take a shot at winning a poker title and play was (relatively) reserved with only 75 rebuys. After the add-ons, we ended up with a prize pool of $3,740 to be awarded to our top 16 finishers.

With 17 players remaining at 3 tables, hand for hand play began. The bubble didn’t take long to burst when two players were eliminated at the same table on the second hand. Wayne Win. (Johnson City, NY) had the misfortune of having the smaller stack entering the hand and walked away with nothing but the bubble boy designation. Bob Sil. (Binghamton, NY) was also eliminated on this hand, securing a 16th place payout of $70. This was Bob’s third Tuesday Night cash of the year.

Play resumed with two tables remaining and Laura Dir. (Johnson City, NY) got her short stack in with pocket nines, only to run directly into pocket queens. Laura collected $70 for her 15th place finish, her sixth Tuesday Night cash of the year. Soren Kan. (Binghamton University) made a successful return from fall break with a 14th place finish worth $70. This was Soren’s second Tuesday Night cash of the year. Jimmy Far. (Binghamton, NY) followed Soren to the payout desk with a 13th place finish for $70. This was Jimmy’s fourteenth Tuesday Night cash of the year.

With a pay jump secured, Dalia At. (Lake Ariel, PA) was the next player eliminated. Dalia earned $90 for her 12th place finish, her fourth Tuesday Night cash of the year. Richard Cha. (Bainbridge, NY) found success in his initial run with 607poker.com, finishing in 11th place and pocketing $90 for his first Tuesday Night cash. Yao She. (New York City, NY) just missed a final table appearance with a 10th place finish for $90. This was Yao’s fourth Tuesday Night cash of the year and his first this semester.

The final nine players had a redraw for final table seating and when play resumed, newcomer Anthony Bus. (Scranton, PA) was the first casualty. Anthony collected $110 for his 9th place finish, an impressive debut with 607poker.com. Nicole Eli. (Oxford, NY) became the first member of her household to post consecutive Tuesday Night final table appearances with an 8th place finish worth $130. Zawadi Yeb. (Johnson City, NY) worked her way to a 7th place finish, taking home $150. This was Zawadi’s nineth Tuesday Night cash of the year.

Mike Bri. (Ithaca, NY) fell a little short in his search for a second Tuesday Night title, bowing out in 6th place and earning $170. This was Mike’s fifth Tuesday Night cash of the year. Ed Leo. (Binghamton, NY) built a big stack early and coasted to the final table, finishing in 5th place and picking up $220. This was Ed’s seventh Tuesday Night cash of the year. Dan Kan. (Maine, NY) couldn’t get a much needed double up when he got all of his chips in the middel with pocket queens against his opponent’s 63. Dan took home $310 for his 4th place finish and stayed at the top of the Tuesday Night leaderboard with his fifteenth cash of the year.

Matt Kel. (Little Meadows, PA) worked his way to a 3rd place finish worth $450 for his third and best Tuesday Night cash of the year. Heads up play was poised to end quickly when Jonny Mar. (Oxford, NY) got all of his chips in the middle preflop with A9 against Ed Gra. (Cortland, NY) holding A5. Ed was able to run out a straight, taking the chip lead away from Jonny for the first time at the final table. The next hand Jonny got it all in on the flop with an open ended straight draw against Ed’s flush draw and came up short, exiting in 2nd place with a $650 payday. This was Jonny’s tenth Tuesday Night cash of the year. This left Ed with all of the chips and his first outright win at 607poker.com in only his second event. Ed collected $1,000 for his 1st place finish. Congrats Ed!!!
