Big Field, No Problem

On a sunny Saturday afternoon, 70 players ventured out to take their shot at winning Event #7 of our Winter 2025 Poker Season. Action was fast and furious out of the gate, resulting in 28 rebuys for a total of 98 entries. This meant 12 of our players would share a prize pool that approached five thousand dollars.

April Flo. put up a good fight but ended her evening as the bubble girl, leaving us with 12 players fighting for their share of the money. Kevin Du. (Windsor, NY) couldn’t fade a 3 outer and was the first casualty in the money, taking home $120 for his third cash in seven events this season. This score moved Kevin into the top 10 on the Season Points Leaderboard. Kevin was followed out by Christian Pen. (Philadelphia, PA), also taking home $120 for 11th place and logging his first cash in his first event of the Winter Season. Carrie Ho. (Deposit, NY) went out in 10th, posting her first cash in her second event of the season.

Rob Cli. (Conklin, NY) continued his hot streak with his second straight cash of the Winter 2025 Season, exiting in 9th place and taking home $145. The Season Points Leader, Cody De. (Windsor, NY) extended his points lead with an 8th place finish. Cody pocketed $190 and all but locked up the top spot on the Season Points Leaderboard. With only one tournament left to pick up points, all players need to bring their A game to the March 15th tournament.

Steve Ril. (Binghamton, NY) took a particularly bad beat that sent him home in 7th place. While not taking away all of the sting of an exit too early, the $245 won must have helped. Stacie Her. (Binghamton, NY) had worked a shorter stack through the final table but met her demise in 6th place, taking home $300. This was the first cash of the season for both Steve & Stacie in only their second event each.

Justin Ho. (Bainbridge, NY) picked up his third cash of the Winter 2025 Season, $370 for a 5th place finish, rocketing him into 2nd place on the Season Points Leaderboard. At a glance, he looks like the only player with a reasonable chance of catching Cody next week. Dave I. (Binghamton, NY) put up his first cash of the Winter 2025 Season with a 4th place finish. Dave was a buzzsaw for most of the tournament, dispatching a bunch of would be contenders, only to go cold at the final table.

The final three players agreed to take a save of $900 each, with the remaining $130 going to the first place finisher. Robert Ric. (Afton, NY) ended up finishing in third, taking home $900 for his second cash of the season. This score moved Robert into 12th place on the Season Points Leaderboard, needing a cash in Event #8 to make the money. The heads up battle between Rooster (Windsor, NY) & Matt Ke. began with Rooster facing a significant chip deficit and an uphill battle. After a back and forth battle, Matt got it in good with Ten-3 and it held. Rooster logged his first cash of this season and jumped into 14th on the Season Points Leaderboard. A cash in Event #8 should get him in the money for the second straight season.

Matt Ke. was able to log his first win and second cash of the season (to go along with a bubble boy finish) in only three events this season. Overcoming our biggest field of this season (any season for that matter) puts him in 10th place on the Season Points Leaderboard. While first place is fairly secure, every other spot (anticipate paying 9 places, determined by the number of entries in Event #8) is wide open. Even if Event #8 is your first tournament with us, a win over a field as large as the Event #7 field could get you in the money on the Season Points Leaderboard. Come out and join us on Saturday, March 15th at 5 PM for a $90 buy-in tournament and your chance at cash and glory!!!
