Friday Frenzy!!

With the cold weather descending upon us Friday night, 39 players braved the elements and plunked down $80 in an attempt to take home a big payday. Action was non-stop from the first level, resulting in 18 rebuys and a prize pool of over $4,200. We were set to pay the top 7 finishers so when we reached the final table, the remaining 9 players still had some work to do.

Steve Jo. (Conklin, NY) was our 9th place finisher and Bart Hur. (Conklin, NY) was our 8th place finisher, both leaving empty handed. Play did not slow down once the money bubble had burst and Kevin Dum. (Windsor, NY) was our 7th place finisher. Kevin was all-in in a classic race situation, holding 99 against his opponents AK. The board of QJQTK was not kind to him. He picked up $175 for his second straight cash.

Mark Gr. (Vestal, NY) continued his hot January with a 6th place finish for $215. Mark left in a true cooler situation when he made two pair on an unraised, blind vs blind flop of J76. Mark’s 76 was drawing thin against his opponent’s J7 and he couldn’t improve. Lance Gor. (Texas) got his chips in with AK against his opponents JJ. A 9 high board didn’t help Lance and he exited in 5th place, taking home $300.

With 4 players remaining, Chad P. (McGraw, NY) got his short stack in with A5 against AK. Chad found a 5 on the turn to take the lead but the river put four cards to a flush on the board and his opponent made the nut flush. Chad was happy to improve on Tuesday’s bubble finish, collecting $430 for his 4th place finish. Dani Br. (Binghamton, NY) found his first money finish in only his third tournament at 607poker.com, taking home $665 for his 3rd place finish. Dani found max value after he max late regged this tournament.

With two players remaining, a deal was made. Jason Sho. (Arkansas) was at a chip disadvantage and received an extra $100 from the first place prize, taking home $1,130 for his portion of the chop. Jason continues to be a force at our events, making yet another final table. Matt Tum. (Binghamton, NY) found a top finish in only his third tournament at 607poker.com. Matt collected $1,360 for his portion of the chop. Matt built an impressive stack early and cruised to the top finish.
